European Environment Award
Fundación Biodiversidad - Gobierno de España, 2016, 2018, 2020
The European Business Awards for the Environment recognize companies that are committed to environmental sustainability while maintaining economic viability. Combining economic success with environmental protection is rewarded through these European awards organized by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition. These awards have been held in Spain since 1997 and serve as recognition for companies dedicated to caring for the planet.
About the trophy
This award showcases the strength of nature through the profile of a sequoia tree, which conveys values of resilience and durability through coherent development within the ecosystem.
The trophy is materialized in the form of a cylindrical totem consisting of two parts: the structure and the coating. The structure is made from a circular extrusion of recycled plastic, using different colors inspired by the chromatic range of trees. The coating is a cylindrical sheet of recycled steel, painted and machined to create the silhouette of the sequoia tree, allowing the color of the structure to color the tree. The award's own graphics are laser-engraved onto this coating.
Appropriate packaging has also been chosen for transporting the trophy, and an European ecological label with information about the trophy's environmental impact has been added to the exterior.
