Ecodisseny Awards

The Catalonia Eco-design Award recognizes products on the market and in development that are designed, manufactured, or executed in Catalonia and incorporate design considerations to improve their environmental performance throughout their life cycle. It primarily values the integration of eco-design strategies and contributions to the circular economy, as well as the quality of design and innovation. It is open to designers, product manufacturers, or students from all across Catalonia.
About the trophy
This trophy was created as part of workshops on design and sustainability, conducted in collaboration with the Agència de Residus de Catalunya, where students were introduced to design concepts related to recycling, the significance of ecological materials, and how to design innovatively and creatively with them.
The trophy represents circularity both in its shape and its materials, using wood, recycled HDPE plastic, and mixed recycled plastic. To minimize waste, the scraps from creating the trophy's circular form are used to craft another trophy for the "accesit" category, which, for the first time, is receiving a physical award.
