Ecodisseny Awards

The Catalonia Ecodesign Award recognizes products on the market and in development designed, manufactured, or executed in Catalonia that integrate design considerations to improve their environmental performance throughout their life cycle. It primarily values the incorporation of eco-design strategies and contributions to the circular economy, design quality, and innovation. It is open to designers, product manufacturers, or students from all of Catalonia.
About the trophy
The design is an adaptation of the trophy model used for the 7th Waste Prevention Awards. The same geometry and components have been retained, except for the second background, which has been replaced with a rod. The stability of the trophy has been improved with a base that also includes information about the award.
The trophies are made from environmentally low-impact materials, recycled and/or renewable, and non-toxic, such as gypsum with vegetable esparto fibers, which emphasizes the connection with nature and tradition. The inner ring is made of iron, the most recycled material, and painted with water-based paint. The inner circle is made of mixed recycled plastic from packaging waste.
According to the trophy design, all specified graphic elements such as the butterfly, colors, or typography have been incorporated. The information is structured on the two free surfaces of the award. The front features the butterfly enclosed by the award's name and underlined with the winner's name. On the base, you'll find the category name with its color, the Generalitat logo, a pencil, and the name of the winning project.
